This Research is under guidance of Dr. Umar Fauzan, M.Pd as advisor I and Dini Irawati M.Pd as advisor II. Writing is one skill of language that must be mastered. Writing can help us to express anything in a paper, and it can help us remain our idea after we read information. The most importan, we can share the information to other people. The purposed of this study is to analyze of student’s errors on using past tense in writing narrative text and to find the cause of errors made by the students writing test. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative design using content analysis approach. The writer uses the student’s writing narrative text based on the eleventh grade science students’ of SMA Negeri 1 Sangasanga. The result show that the writer found four types of errors, they are omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. Then, the writer found the highest error made by the students is misformation with 52 % prcentages. This problem influences between regular verb and irregular verb. Therefore, students claimed if they seldom to practice writing paragraph.
