This research is under the gidance of Mr. Dr. Umar Fauzan, M.Pd. as the first advisor, and Mrs. Dra. Sitti Hadijah, M. Pd. as the second advisor.
Method is theoretically determined organizationally by a design and actually implemented in the process. The teacher should know exactly what their students should achieve in learning their subjects, at the end of the course, grade, month, week and each specific course, what changes they can bring to the student. They should know the goals and objectives of foreign language teaching in school. Thus, teaching methods need to be enforced. The research objective in this research is to find out the Methods of Teaching Listening that used by English lecturer in fourth semester English department of IAIN Samarinda in academic year 2020/2021.
Data analysis was descriptive qualitative. The instrument used in this research were observation Sheet, interview guide, and documentation. The researcher collected the data during the pandemic of Covid-19. The pandemic situations made the researcher looked for alternative ways to collect the data by making online interview, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, due to the pandemic situation, the researcher interview via telephone. Then the subject of this study was an English lecturer at IAIN Samarinda at the fourth semester at class TBI 1. The researcher used qualitative data analysis techniques. The data was analyzed Miles, Huberman and Saldana.
Finding showed that the methods of teaching listening of Fourth Semester of English Department at IAIN Samarinda were CTL (Contextual Teaching Learning), Problem Based Learning and Project Based Learning. The main media used was google classroom. The application was chosen because the features that supported learning activity for teacher and students to make discussion. The data showed that this application is suitable to use under the pandemic.
