This researcher aims to describe the teacher teaching Englsih in the eleventh grade of SMKN 17 Samarinda.
In the learning process, a teacher must have a strategy in any subject including an Englsih lesson. Why Teachers must have a strategy in teaching because strategy can support the learning process and achieve the learning process and goals. The strategy used by the teacher in teaching Englsih will make the students enjoy the learning process because in the class the students have a different ability to comprehend the Englsih lesson. The condition of the teacher are not the same, not all teachers can operate or uses computers properly. Not only for the teacher but it is also bad for students who cant own their computer that is used in teaching where the teacher uses something like apps or Webdesign. Using online activities makes communication can be done easily, with the teacher or students.
The research uses qualitative research. The instruments are divided into interviews, documentation, and observation. The technique for collecting data are observation, interview, and documentation. The technique of analysing are data reduction, data display, and conclusion.
Based on the the research finding by the research above. This part presents the discussion of the research findings. The research findings about teacher’s strategies in teaching Englsih at the SMKN 17 Samarinda through Teaching Preparation, Teaching Implemantion, and Teaching Evaluation. In the teaching preparation the researcher found out that the teacher use a syllabus,Lesson Plans, and for the material the teacher used books and the internet for the supporting materials. For the teaching implemantion the teacher uses video and text book for teaching. For collecting the data of students understanding the teacher use Formative and summative test. In selecthing the method teacher choose based on the students ability.Teaching Evaluation teacher gives the students the feedback by asked the students and the students can ask the teacher during free times in office.
