Reading Comprehension Level In “Passport To The World 3” English Textbook For Ix Grade Of Junior High School

This research was under the guidance of Dr. Umar Fauzan, M.Pd as the first Advisor, and Dini Irawati, M.Pd as the second advisor.
The background of this research was to find out if the teaching material book “Passport To The World 3” was worth using for the reading material of nineth grade material in English textbook “Passport To The World 3” because the textbook was used in teaching English for the ninth grade of junior high school. The objective of this research was to find out the level reading comprehension text found in “Passport To The World 3” for the ninth grade of junior high school by Tiga serangkai pustaka mandiri, and to find out types of question of reading comprehension of reading text in “Passport To The World 3” for the ninth grade of junior high school by tiga serangkai pustaka mandiri.
The method used in this research was content analysis. The approach of this research was descriptive qualitative. This research use data analysis technique by Miles, Huberman and Saldana. The instrument of this research was a documentation checklist. The data were collected from reading text found in English “Passport To The World 3” an English course textbook. There are seven reading texts which are analyzed.
The results of the analysis are there are three texts literal level reading comprehension and four texts reading texts including inferential level reading comprehension. There are 46 questions in Wh-questions and 4 questions in Yes/no question. In conclusion, this reading text level is suitable for ninth grade of junior high school.
