This research was under the guidance of Rostanti Toba, M.Pd as Advisor I, and Nadia Sya'ya, M.Pd M. TESOL as Advisor II.
The background of this research is to find out misbehavior behavior in the first students of SMK TI Airlangga Samarinda, in the English class the students really disturb the teaching and learning process by their diverse behavior. The purpose of this research is to find out the types of misbehavior and implement classroom arrangements to reduce misbehavior.
This study uses a general observation method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The researcher interviewed the English teacher, then observed the English teacher on the observation sheet as the main instrument. Then, the researcher took documentation in the form of several class rules implemented in class as a supporting instrument. Researchers interpret data in narrative text. The research subjects in this study were class I students of SMK TI Airlangga Samarinda, totaling 32 students. The analytical technique used in this study adapted Miles and Huberman's qualitative analysis to analyze the results of interviews and the formulation of presentations.
The results of this study found 24 types of misbehavior in students, namely: talking during class, reading other material, using mobile phones, eating/drinking, taking out the trash, arriving late, cutting class, mocking friends, cheating, not bringing books, assignments not finished, not completes homework, sleeps, refuses to participate in class activities, refuses to do teacher's instructions, interrupts, enters class, packs books and materials before class ends, daydreams, argues, does not listen to others' opinions, makes inappropriate comments, shouts and joked. Meanwhile, the implementation of class rules for English teachers uses Jones' theory to apply class rules. According to Jones, there are four steps in setting class rules. They discuss rule values or standards of behavior, manage rosters, commit, and monitor and review class rules.
